Yelloweye Rockfish

Yelloweye rockfish are a type of rockfish that are found in the East Pacific from Alaska to Baja California. They are known for their bright yellow eyes and orange-red to orange-yellow color.  They can grow up to 36 inches and weigh up to 30 lbs. They are one of the longest-lived animals on Earth, with a maximum age of 150 years. They are located near rocky bottoms and kelp forests. In California, it is prohibited to take yelloweye rockfish year-round at all depths.
